Dear Prospective Parent,

Thank you for your interest in Desert Montessori School, a warm and stimulating environment for children ages 2-12. One of life's most satisfying and long-lasting lessons is for a young child to experience his or her capabilities as deeply respected and honored.

We are dedicated to introducing meaningful creative opportunities where children explore, develop, integrate, and expand to their fullest potential. Our curriculum is sequentially designed, enhancing a child's current abilities and expanding to wider interests and perspectives.

Desert Montessori School maintains a non-sectarian program and admits children of all abilities, races, religions, and cultural heritages to all rights, privileges, programs and activities of the school. We do not discriminate on any basis in administration of our financial aid policies.

A sequence of steps prior to enrolling is essential to your understanding of the school:

- You will receive a letter following your initial contact with the school.
- Please call again to schedule an appointment to observe the classrooms (adults only on this first time).
- We then schedule a second visit with your child.
- Together we determine a match between family/child/school/staff.

A non-refundable deposit of $175 per child is due immediately to secure enrollment. This deposit does not accrue towards tuition at any time. You will receive a packet of information to complete before your child's first day. You must submit an up-to-date immunization record or current waiver. You will receive a Parent Handbook outlining our general guidelines, policies, and philosophy.

The 2006 school year runs from early September to mid June. A summer school program is available for 2 to 6 year olds. We offer the following enrollment options:

Toddler: (ages 2-3) 8:30-12:00 or 8:30-3:00 Monday-Thursday.

Pre-School: (ages 3-4) 8:30am-3pm Monday-Thursday or Monday- Friday.

Kindergarten: (full days ages 4.9 - 5+) 8:30am - 3pm Monday-Friday.

Elementary: (Full days: ages 6-12) 8:30am - 3pm Monday-Friday.

Tuition ranges from $575-$845 per month.

Financial aid is offered to all families who meet the school criteria for assistance.

Specialty class tuition for Spanish and music is included. Dance and gymnastics are a small additional cost. Before school care (8:00 -8:30am) is no charge. After care is $40 per month for 3-4pm.

*NEW* Bus service is now available in the afternoons. We can transport your child to after school programs or home for only $5 per child/per day. (Siblings who are all going to the same destination are only charged the $5 fee).
