During the early decades of the 1900's,
Dr. Montessori created a comprehensive method by which to teach early
education based on years of astute observation of young children.
Hundreds of contemporary education tenets are based on her revolutionalry
findings, innovations, learning material design, and whole-child
principles. One of her most astute observations was that children
of different ages will naturally teach and learn from one another-
thus spawning the idea of mixed-aged classrooms and three-year sequences
of progressively challenging work.
Following thoughtful and careful presentation of Dr.
Montessori's materials and equipment, children progress through an
intentionally designed sequence of work which will enhance their
individual temperments, drive, innate abilities, and interests.
